OWA - Search & Archive Explorer return a blank page

EV6.0 SP1
Two Node Cluster Exchange 2003 SP2 Backend Server
Single Front End Server

We are open archived mail OK via OWA.

But if we select either search or archive explorer it returns a blank page.

All IIS logs Backend and EVault Server are showing no obvious errors.

Exactly the same behavour if we access OWA from Front End or directly to the backend.

can you get to it by going directly to the page via FQDN... http://server.com.local/enterprisevaultproxy/archiveexplorerui.asp?

Also have you tried adding the server to trusted sites?

Check the enterprisevaultproxy on the BE and FE for Directory Security, check that the basic authentication domain is set and not just a "\"

... then do an IISRESET

Do you happen to use Attachview for OWA? If you do, it affects those features. Messagview, the maker of Attachview, can provide a fix.

Also, make sure you are not using IIS compression.
From the IIS snap-in, right-click on the Web Sites node and click on Properties
Select the Service tab - Enable Compress application files
Uncheck Compress static files and Compress application files

I have specified a domain for enterprisevaultproxy.
Run an IISRESET

This has not made any difference.

We are using no compression with IE

I also tried to access the search directly using IE

http://server.cvom.local/enterprisevaultproxy/archiveexplorerui.aps?

and the page returned: a blank page with the following message mid way down

Reason: Unable to determine a web app url for vault access

Any more ideas would be appreciated

If you open an archived item first and then click the link does the search or AE work? there was an old error w/ 5.0 that was similiar to what you are seeing.

Also, in the adv setting for the Exchange Policy for archiving there is an OWA section. Is there anything in the Web application alias setting?

Opening a Vaulted email first does not effect the behavour of the Search or Archice Explorer button.

The Web Application Alias is blank.

Was the above a typo in this thread or is that what you actually keyed? Shouldn't it be archiveexplorerui.asp?

That was a typo and I spotted it at the time

you could put the web app alias in this field and run synchronization of your mailboxes.

http:\\evserver\enterprisevault

This made no difference

Hi Mark,
Did you find a solution to this problem?.
I've got the same error, the difference is that I'm using EV 6 SP2.
When I select Archive Explorer it opens a blank page, with address:

http://owaserver/enterprisevaultproxy/archiveexplorerui.asp?OWARestoreUrl=http://owaserver/exchange/useralias/deleted%20items&OWARetryCount=30&OWARetryTime=2000&mbx=useralias@company.com

I have checked both FE and BE IIS and there is no "archiveexplorerui.asp" file in the "Enterprisevaultproxy" virtual directory.

I think that this .asp should be in the folder "C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault\OWA\Proxy" but it is not my case.

Are you using an ISA server?

Jose_N

No, we are trying to access from our Intranet, we are not using ISA server for publishing or proxy service.

We resolved our problems. Our issue was the list of Enterprise Vault servers & sites listed on the Exchange backend server. I made on typo on the list.

Hi.
In which list did you enter you EV servers?
