OWA - Search function

Has anyone come across a solution for the situation where attempting to search from OWA on a FE server generates an error:

The Enterprise Vault service is not available.

Reason: Failed to determine back end server

There is KB article which references this but is relation to legacy or external domains. I have this issue in 2k/2k3 environment. I'll probably try the fix but I wanted to get some feedback first.

Try this:

Add the following parameter to the Enterprise Vault\OWA\EvFrontEnd.ini file:

.defaultbeserver=
where host_name identifies the default back-end server.

For example:
exch-fe.1.defaultbeserver=myexchangesvr
