P5 MSMQ consistently has an important number of items & continue to grow (EV 2007 SP3)

Hi,

I'm using Public Folders archiving and i keep on having P5 messages and they continue to grow.

I found this technote http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/287853.htm

I have 4 public folders servers, 5 max connections and 1000 items per pass.

I would like to increase those values but i need to evaluate among of charge that will be generate on those Exchange servers.

Is there any way to evaluate this information ?

Every messaging environment is unique and also depend on the spec of your exchange servers. what is the load, etc....you may try to increare the connection 1 at a time.

Take a look and the EV Performance guide and a guidline :)

Hi P K,

We're following the prerequisites. I'm using CACTI (http://www.cacti.net/) to generate graph about among of load during archiving.

I'll check Performance guide.
