Restore FSA placeholder with Backup Exec

Hello,

We have restored a file server to a new one with Backup Exec. The original file server was archived with EV and FSA.

Backup Exec has restored placeholders on the new server. Do we need to use FSA utility to restore / move the placeholder in order to be in a good state on the new server ?

Thanks for your help.

No, you should not need to use FSAUtility to restore or move the placeholder.  Backup Exec should be able to restore the reparse points for you.  Here's a KB article explaining the reason;

Thanks

As a follow-up question: I called Symantec Support with this same question.  They said that to restore the FSA placeholders to a new fileserver and have them work that I would need to use the FSAUtility with the -m (move) option.  Is this accurate?
If however, Backup Exec 12.5 will work by restoring the placeholders to a new fileserver, is there anything else that needs to be done to have a functioning new fileserver that is being archived by EV and which has working placeholders which were restored from the old fileserver?
(The fileservers have different names.)

Thanks
