how the licensing works for symantec vault.

We want to do following

Archive domino server, exchange server , blackberry pins, Same Time Chat messages , pst, nsf and want to use single instance storage.

What license we would need.

Firstly the product is Enterprise Vault, not just Vault.

You would need:
Domino
PST
FSA
How are you going to archive IM? If by a connecter to a journal mailbox you will also need journaling

to archive IM i recommend IM Manager it will provide you alot of control over your IM archiving and you can also use it to enforce policies on what can be said on IM and where the clients can connect

It can also be setup in a very stealth manner

Again, this id dependednt on what IM's you have in your enviroment.

I agree with Wayne, I highly suggest to get a Symantec partner involved to get you the correct licenses. This is usually sales, and free of charge... ;) /Michel
