(2016) Disk Storage Server is Down

I hope someone can help or point me in the right direction.

I have a storage server that has the name and ip address associated with the disk pool/storage unit.  The ip address of the storage server changed and now I am receiving Storage Server down.  This is because the ip address in the name was changed.  Is there an easy way to change the name of the storage server?  The storage server is a Quantum.  The disk pool is up. Media & Quantum storage is up.  Storage server is reporting DOWN.

unfortunalty no, you would have to recreate the storage server and disk pools as it is new storage servers. and decomm the existing one..

if you are only concenrt with IP address and keep the old name, i would suggest you to use the oldname with new IP address, in this method noting needs to be changed other then pointing the storage server name to new IP address though DNS or hosts entries.

if you would like to change the storage server name also, then you would have to create the new storage server with new name and see if you can import the images using the new stroage server disk pool.( this will definatly need you to expire the image without deleting(nodelete option i guess) the data) then remove all old stroage server references.

Have a look at this post:

As per above post - Storage server name change procedure is the same for MSDP and OST.

New URL for : Changing the MSDP storage server name or storage path
