AIX NB Client change (5.1 to 6.0)

Environment:

Master Server:
Windows 2003 Server, Standard
NB 6.0MP5

Media Server
AIX5
NB 6.0MP4

Client
AIX
Upgraded NetBackup client from 5.1 to 6.0MP4

The backups were running without any problems on 5.1, and since upgrading to 6.0MP4 the backups have been failing.

From the Administrative Console I can access the client and modify properties.  To me it looks like the client is functioning properly.  I checked the trace.log from the install, and there were no errors.

The backup job fails with a status 6 (gotta love these)

I see your Oracle agent on the AIX client is still:

VERITAS NetBackup for Oracle - Release 5.1 (2004043014)

Sounds like you missed out something

Good lookin out.  I downloaded the Oracle 6.0MP4 client via http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/285967.htm

When I try to install the NB_ORA_60_4_M it says it requires NB_CLT_60_4_M

Error: Cannot find required pack NB_CLT_60_4_M

My NB Client is currently at 6.0MP4....

I placed the install files in the same install directory as the NB_CLT

I will continue to look into this, but thought I would see if you knew what is wrong.

Do you have the README in the directory?

I am in the middle of testing a backup right now...but after I posted my last message and saw your message, I realized what I was doing wrong....I had installed the 6.0MP4 client from NetBackup6.0MP4_clients1 package

I downloaded the client package the Oracle client install was referring to, placed the install packages in the same directory and it installed properly...

so many different install packages, just got to stay up with the game.

Problem is resolved.  Next time I will make sure to update all associated clients before I try to do anything else.

thanks for the help.
