Add Cleaning tapes

Hi to all,

i have recently added 2 new cleaning tapes to my robot entry/exit slots, and in my netbackup 6.5 i made "inventory robot" choosing the options "update volume configuration" and "empty media access port prior to update". The cleaning tapes were added ok but were placed in "netbackup" volume pool and the media type was identified as HCART3, meaning that he is detecting the tapes as regular tapes and not cleaning tapes.

the bar code is CLN***** and netbackup has no problem reading it. What can be causing this? Should i delete this tapes and add them manually with the "new volume" option?

thanks in advance

Have you tried barcode rules?

We have one set up for our cleaning tapes:

Barcode Tag: CLN

Cleanings: 25

Media Type: 1/2" cleaning tape 3

Volume Pool: none

Description: Cleaning Tape

Our  cleaning tapes are then placed in the 'None' pool with a media type of HC3_CLN.

Check that your barcodes are "cleaning tape barcodes".

Barcodes for universal cleaning tapes should end with CU, LTO3 cleaning tapes with C3 etc.

Edit: example CLNU001CU
