HI,
Exchange 2010 duplicaton fails to write to tape even if the rest of the backups duplications go through. It calls for a tape to be mounted but the tape is not even moved to the drive but the status of the drive stays "active" with no tape mounted. I double checked the drive configurations and confirmed that the tapes are scratch. Even after a reboot of the master and media servers the problem is still there. I'm running on a Windows 2008 R2 master and media servers with version 7.1.0.4 of Netbackup. Has anybody experienced a problem like this before.

I have seen a problem with duplication where source and destination pool was the same.
If there is space left on source tape, NBU does not request a new tape and selects the same tape as destination. 2 drives are then waiting for the same tape to be mounted.
To prevent this 'deadlock', the destination/duplication pool should be different from the source/backup pool.
