How Netbackup pick new tape to write

Hi All

Just a quick question, understand from the Admin doc that when Netbackup need to write to a new tape, it will find the least recently used one (assume all previous check pass already), however if all the qualified tapes are new and never used before, which one will be chosen? Radomly?

It may be FIFO media entered into EMM.. Or may be even by Tapes ID's

Yesterday we have mounted some RAW GEN4 Tapes and I just checked those how it took. but it seems like most of them in sequence

As per my say, Its all based on EMM Entry/Media sequence. but i dont commonly think of this kind of questions :)

It seems new/scratch tapes are allocated in numeric order.

Thanks for the reply. In my case seems the Netbackup is not picking up the tapes in numeric order, we have XX0100, XX0101, XX0102, XX0103, XX0104 in the pool and the choosen two are XX0101 and XX0103, really cannot see the order, odd first? lol
