Hello,
a backup job which used to work fine for months suddenly makes our MSL 4048 to send error messages like this when we try to start it:
17.04.26 09:43:46.94 Libctrl task Error - ME: invalid cartridge
Return status: 0x80 - command failed
Global error code: 0x63 - ME: invalid cartridge
Command code: 0x15 - unload
Task originator: 0x02 - CDB interpreter task
Extender library specifier: 0x00 - master library
Source element type.: 0x02 - storage slot
Element number: 0x1B, 27
Destination element type.: 0x04 - tape drive
Element number: 0x02, 2
Component ID type: 0x02 - medium PVT (barcode)
Component ID: AXX211LM
We try to use it with WORM tapes (like we did before and it worked fine). We get this error from both tape drives inside the MSL 4048. Other jobs work fine, some of them also use WORM tapes.
What could be the cause of this error message?

Some of those messages look informational, however the over riding one seems to be the invalid cartridge.
So, for some reason, the library isn't happy with the tape. This could be for a valid reason, or a fault where the library is incorrecting reporting the issue.
To be honest, the fastest way you will get this resolved is by contacting the library vendor, at least as the starting point.

Hi,
I see your library is reading AXX211LM as barcode. As far as I know is the suffix L2/L3..L7 mandatory since LTO-2 in most or all libraries.
How are the other lables?
ciao
