MSDP Linux server, increase pool limit

HI !

sorry for my english, i'm french speaking.

We will in few weeks, install a new Linux MSDP server.

Actually, all our MSDP server are Windows, some have the limit of 64TB for the pool, others with x TB.  When we have a pool with low space, we just add a 4TB LUN or more, and we extend the drive (Windows) and the pool is increase (data on drive). Everything is fine !

With this setting, we have, I think, the support of Veritas with this config.

With Linux MSDP, we would like to do the same thing.  Starting with some MSDP server with, by example, 32TB by pool.  When needed, just add some LUN of 4TB to increase the pool.  I know the maximum pool size for Linux with 1 volume is also 64TB.

Do you think we have the support of Veritas with this config too ?  Increase a volume with data on it by adding some LUN and extend the volume.

We think also to go with the enabling 96TB.  I know we need 3 volumes (+ the 1TB volume for catalog).  With this config of 3 volume (enabling 96TB), can we start with 3 volumes of 12TB each and if needed, increase one or all volumes with some 4TB LUN with data on volume ? .

I can't find Veritas paper about all possibility of config with MSDP server.  My big concern is, my setting need to be supported by Veritas

Thanks !

Yes, it is supported to increase a MSDP using a volume manager on Linux, as long as you use a file system on top supported by Veritas.
