Status 800 : No drives available failures but Netbackup sees the drive!

We are trying to carry out restores, but they are failing with Status 800. We are using Ultrium 1840 drive and LTO3 tapes. The drive is configured as a standalone drive directly connected (scsi) to the back of the Netbackup Server and can be up'd and down'd in the java gui, with no problems at all. We kick off the restore and it connects then immediately fails with Status 800. As a test I used the Netbackup tar command to list the contents of the drive and it read it no problem. Help appreciated..

NetBackup status code 800: resource request failed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Details:
Message: resource request failed

Explanation: The nbjm process was unable to get the required resources for a job. An EMM reason string that appears in the Activity Monitor job details display and in the nbjm debug log accompanies this status code. The EMM reason string identifies the reason for the failed resource request.

Recommended action: Locate the EMM reason string, correct the problem, and rerun the job. Some generic EMM reason strings (such as "Disk volume is down") may require generating some reports to determine the cause of the failure. You can generate the report by means of either bperror or the various log entry reports, such as Reports > Disk Reports > Disk Logs in the Administration Console.
