There is an issue in 7.5.0.3 and 7.5.0.4 that allows bpexpdate to expire frozen media.

This has been escalated to Engineering in eTrack 3009921

You will need to log a support call to obtain the EEB.

...but more likely you'll be asked to upgrade to 7.5.0.6 or 7.5.0.7 (or 7.6 or above!) where this issue is fixed as there is no 7.5.0.5 EEB.

(To answer your original question... if I understand it correctly, you are asking if this is a bug in 7.5.0.5.  Yes, it is a bug in 7.5.0.5.  It is not a bug in 7.5.0.6.  It is fixed in 7.5.0.6.)

3009921 content is included in the 7.5.0.6 Release Notes - see page 57:

The purpose of freezing a tape is to prevent additional changes to the tape, normally due to perceived issues with the tape.

Normally tapes are not frozen, they are suspended.

I am not sure what your question is  - are you asking if there is a bug in 7.5.0.5 that allows expired frozen tapes to be recycled? Or are you asking if the behavior in 7.6.0.1 is normal?
