To add old volume to EMM database

IBernabe

Hi guys,

I have the following doubt:

I've checked the count of volumes I have in my closet.

I've seen there is one volumen, which, it doesn't appear in EMM NetBackup.

I've protected against written this volume, and I've put it in the library, but NetBackup has assigned this volume to Scratch Pool.

How could I add this volume to EMM database, in this way, I could recover this information?

I think I should scan the volume, but, what is the command?

Thanks for your help.

Regards.

Thanks.

But the following error appears when I try to import the media:

16/06/2011 12:14:07 - Error bptm(pid=6079) NBJM returned an extended error status: resource request failed (800)

Ok, this error was because the volume was added to Scratch Pool.

I've added this volume to another pool, and the import action is working.

Thank you for your help.

what version of NB?

We're using 6.5.6 & if we try to import from scratch the error message is a little more specific:

16/06/2011 11:44:53 - Error nbjm(pid=12565) NBU status: 2098, EMM status: Media pool is not eligible for this job
16/06/2011 11:44:53 - Error nbjm(pid=12565) NBU status: 2098, EMM status: Media pool is not eligible for this job
16/06/2011 11:44:55 - Error bptm(pid=14808) NBJM returned an extended error status: Media pool is not eligible for this job (2098)
16/06/2011 11:44:55 - Error bpimport(pid=14776) Status = extended error status has been encountered, check logs.

Let us know if your import is successful.....

Please ALWAYS add tapes to be imported to a non-scratch pool, preferably a pool that will never be used for backups (you can even create a new pool for this purpose). This is to prevent any backup job that just might be looking for tape to 'grab' this one.

Hi Andy,

The version is 6.5.5

The import operation has finished ok.

Thank you so much.

That sounds about right. I think we started to get a proliferation of more meaningful status codes from 6.5.6, hence the difference in our output.

Glad you managed to get it resolved.
