Use normal media servers for replication instead of SAN media servers

Hello,

I have a couple of normal media servers and couple of SAN media servers ( actually the oracle DB servers made SAN media servers for SAN backup of huge data to DD). Now during the replication, instead of normal media servers these SAN media servers( actually the oracle DB servers) being used as media server which is causing load on Oracle servers.

How can I correct this to make sure only normal media servers are used during replication.

Which type of dedupe storage? 
Do 'normal' media servers have read access to dedupe storage on SAN Media servers?
