VCB with 6.5.2 and 156 errors

VCB backups was working fine for a server, then started to get 156 errors.

The other server in the same policy is running fine.

bpfis log - onlfi_verify: VMware_freeze: Unable to locate VM ...servername...

bpvmutil log - bpVMutil main: skipping server virtualcenter VM ...servername...

vcbnames has the server name listed, but not the complete fully qualified name and IP addr as NONE.

Deleted vcbnames.  It was recreated, still the same.

The VM is still running.
An issue getting the VM list from Virtual Center?

This is because vcbMounter doesnt have access to the volume storing the clients.

The NBU Proxy server needed to be zoned to have access to the LUNs hosting the VM clients.

Thank you for the articles.

I found the issue and it was a simple one.   VMware tools were stopped.

We started the tools and the VCB backup is now working again.

Another item to add to my list for checking 156 errors.

At least we know now what these particular messages in bpfis, bpvmutil and vcbnames could correlate to.

bpfis log - onlfi_verify: VMware_freeze: Unable to locate VM ...servername...

bpvmutil log - bpVMutil main: skipping server virtualcenter VM ...servername...

vcbnames has the server name listed, but not the complete fully qualified name and IP addr as NONE.

Thanks
