VMware backup failure - EC 11

[NBU35]

Master server  Clustered Solairs 10, NBU 7.7.3

Media server HP UX 11.31, NBU 7.7.3

Target Storage : NBU puredisk appliance 5020

Backup host: Physical machine, NBU 7.7.3, WIndows 2008 R2, NBD mode

Client: WIndows 2012, SQL Database, NBU 7.6.0.1

I am trying to a vM level backup with SQL backups option enebaled in policy.

1) Backup kicks off fine

2) Application capture state job completes with any issue

3) Snapshot creation job completes successfully.

4) Backup jobs starts fine and writes some data and then either fail with EC 13 or 11.

Please suggest.

Not sure anyone can answer this with the information provided.  Status 13/11 would usually require a VxMS log or at lease a bpbkar log.

What is the error message in Job Details?

Any reason why the client is still on 7.6.x?
Can you upgrade NBU as a start?

I found this TN:  https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000015211  which shows that VxMS log is needed to troubleshoot.

Hi All 

Thanks for your help, I went through VXMS logs and found some disk related errors.

We had a bad disk at hardware level, which ws causing some read errors related to bad sectors on disk.
