Example 2 - A connection from the server fred is tried to the client wilma by using the vnetd port number if possible:
# bptestbpcd -M fred -client wilma -connect_options 2 2 0 1 1 1 10.0.0.59:40983 -> 10.0.0.104:13724 10.0.0.59:40984 -> 10.0.0.104:13724 10.0.0.59:40985 -> 10.0.0.104:13724

The connect option only apply to the connection bptesbpcd is about to perform.
If you want the connect option to be permanent you have to place the option in bp.conf on the master and media servers.

-connect_options 0|1|2 0|1|2|3 0|1|2|3
The first setting indicates the type of port to use to connect to bpcd on the
client:
0 = Use a reserved port number.
The second setting indicates the bpcd call-back method to use to connect to
the client:
0 = Use the traditional call-back method
The third setting indicates the connection method to use to connect the client:
2 = Connect to a daemon on the server by using the traditional port number
of the daemon only.
The third setting only affects connections to NetBackup 7.0 and earlier clients and servers. For connections to NetBackup 7.0.1 and later, the veritas_pbx port is used

Let's save everybody a whole lotta trouble:
I'm begging you guys - if a question from this user starts with a cut and paste from the Commands Guide, don't engage. ESPECIALLY if all you're gonna do is cut and paste FROM THE EXACT SAME SECTION OF THE COMMANDS GUIDE. It will do about as much good as me hyperlinking to the very same section of the Commands Guide in SymWISE (which I just did, because I am a fool). What this mean? What this do? How I get job involving NetBackup? This my office? Why I can't delete threads? Consecutive questions? MAN I need to get some more sleep - this week has been tough.
