Hi

our DB backups are failing. we got following error in RMAN logs.

error executing package DBMS_RCVMAN in TARGET database
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================

RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00554: initialization of internal recovery manager package failed
RMAN-06429: TARGET database is not compatible with this version of RMAN

version of RMAN

Recovery Manager: Release 9.2.0.8.0

please suggest what are the compatibilty versions of netbackup and RMAN.

but the netbaackup 5.x is compatalbe with the Oracle 9..

what is the Oracle bit..is that 32 or 64..

Oracle 64 is not supported.. please check once...

and if that is 32 bit only.. then please give the full log of /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/dbclient and the log generated from the Rman side.. full log needed..

... not NetBackup.  Have your Oracle DBA take a look.

Check with DBA, if the RMAN catalog version is compatible with version you are running on host.
