BESR 8.5 not picking up drive letter

hi all,

We currently use besr 8.5 to backup our email server. On the same server we also run archiving software that backs up to an external usb disk. After a restart of the email server we noticed that windows had changed the drive letter of the external disk. We changed this back to what it should be to allow the archiving to work again, however BESR no longer recognises the new drive letter. It only sees the old drive letter and as such wont backup the external disk anymore. ie after the restart the drive letter was e: we changed it back to d: but BESR only sees an e: drive which dosnt exist anymore.

Any ideas?

Since changing the drive letter from E to D, have you restarted the BESR service (VProSvc)? If not, try this to see if it helps.

Hi,

I restarted the Backup Exec System Recovery service but this didnt seem to help. I dont appear to have a service labelled VProSVC? Im guessing this is one and the same service?

Yes, that's the same service.

Can you confirm which version of 8.5 you have (check in Help-About).
