BESR does not see SAN drive

I have an issue with BESR 6.5 where it is not seeing one of the three drives which are attached via the SAN.  This KB article suggests that I should create a new LUN of the same size as the existing LUN, attach it to the server and see if BESR sees this LUN.  If it does then I should migrate the data to the new LUN:

I'm thinking there must be a better way to resolve this issue.  Have any of you had a similar problem and, if so, what did you do to resolve it?

Thanks!

On the client system that you are attempting to backup the LUN from typically under C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery\Utility there will be a partinfo.exe program. Run it, look at the partinfo.txt file it creates, in the table section are there any errors being reported; does it properly show the partition table information for the LUN? Under the same sub-folder run the SMEdump.exe utility as well, are there any errors being reported and/or does the LUN get recongized as a valid snapable drive?
