BESR will only run successfully after a server reboot

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can possibly provide some assistance with a job I’ve picked up Backup Exec System Recovery.  Basically what’s happening is that BESR will only run successfully after a server reboot, once, then subsequent ones fail until next time you reboot.  I have tried restarting the BESR service but this simply breaks it even further, not allowing us to even see the backup schedule as it gets stuck on Scanning Disks... What errors do you see?
What version/build of BESR do you have?
What version of Windows?

there are no errors, the backup just dosent run and the only way to get it to run is a reboot. If I stop the services they will not restart.
Version is 8.5.1.29666, OS is windows SBS 2003SP2.

That is an old build - you need to update it to the latest (8.5.5) by running LiveUpdate.
