Error EC8F1B76 l:\besr\server1 is not a local pathname (for example, c:\)

Hi,

Getting this error when trying to define a new backup for server1

All servers get backed up onto a repository server called BESRDATA

A 1.7TB drive (San attached) is configured for this server and hosts all the servers' c:\ drive data.

This 1.7TB drive is called L:\

Within L:\ is a folder called BESR

Within BESR are folders for each server e.g. Server1, Server2, MailServer, SQLServer etc.

If, from the repository server I click on computers, edit computer list, select server1 and then click on connect this shows I have 2 drives which are not currently being backed up. BESR suggests, as a remedy, to run the define backup wizard which I do.

I select Back up my computer (recommended)

I select the C:\drive

I select recovery point set (recommended)

In folder, I enter L:\BESR\Server1 and click on next but get the error as stated in the subject.

L:\ is shared as L$

L:\BESR is shared as BESR with full control to everyone

but I still get the error complaining about local drives. How do I resolve this?

Backup Exec System Recovery 7.04 Server Edition

Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition Sp1

Kind regards,

Chris

Have resolved this error.

Enter the location as

\\BESRDATA\BESR\Server1\ and it works.
