Well, that's one bug they didn't fix up with the 7.03 update:

we'll just have to live with the fact that changing a removable USB-harddisk is just too much to ask for?

I agree, I had to adjust my notifications so I'd stop getting emails on the issue.  We sync our backup volume to a USB drive weekly and store the USB drive offsite. After doing this one time the messages roll in forever.
