When manually run "rc.netbackup.aix stop" if-stmt of "nbjm -terminate" hangs.The only way to allow subsequent steps to finish is to kill the nbjm processes.Then the reset of the if-stmts run.

Yes, on 11/18/2008, Support forwarded us an updated 'versioninfo' which resolved this issue for RS6000/AIX platforms. We have replaced the earlier version and tested successfully running 'support'. We no longer are now getting the segmentation faults...

We just jupgraded from 5.1.7 to 6.5.2 on AIX 5.3.8.We use /etc/rc.netbackup.aix and there was none under goodies.We let the nbjm terminate run for upto 45 minutes and there was no activity or jobs running in the master for that time period.

Is your master have 2+ NIC cards?If yes, you should work with support in adding an alias to EMM db with nbemmcmd.I had this problem @ 6.5.2 this week when we upgraded.
