Make sure the networking hardware (client NIC, hubs, switches) is set to 100mb or 1gb/full duplex and not auto-negotiate. Auto-negotiate really cramps NBU/Unix backups.

You might want to make sure the SQL system account executing the bch file has access permissions the C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\Logs\user_ops\mssql directory.

Sounds like your frequency is set for 24 hours. NBU won't check the status of the last backup. It just kicks off on schedule. You may want to open your start window only every other day until your network gets up to speed.
