Euhm, I think you already advised to disable this in your first posting (and I replied that this was already done) and uninstalling the SP that's currently installed, isn't possible (again, the dreaded #1603 error).

SP4 is installed on the server I'm working on at the moment. But one of the other servers experiencing the same problem, had SP1 + hotfixes 32 and 33... (if I'm not mistaken). /dimi

Hi there Craig, Thanks for the reply! But unfortunately, I've already tried that :) I've even tried killing the pvlsvr.exe process (the Backup Exec Device & Media Service) and some others (the .exe's mostly linked to any started Backup Exec Services)...
