I contacted symantec support and was told that there is no cost for installing the BE Agent on xp and 2k machine. I've now installed and running well. Thanks for your help Mark

The go with what Craig said. I had this a couple of months ago. Once was because the drive was so dirty and after a clean it was fine. The other time is was the hardware and was replaced by HP. Hope this helps Mark

Does this happen to all of the tapes or is it just 1 of them?

Has anyone got any further with this. I have a domain controller as well doing this. It seems to do it on different days as well and not all the time. Thanks Mark
