Thanks.. for the qick reply. 1 and 2 didnt work still a zero byte on catalog. One thing that is puzzling me is that a password dialog box is showing before the catalog starts. To my knowledge no password was ever set on the backups , is this normal?...

Updated to SP2 fixed the OBDC error. Though im still unable to catalog previous tapes, zero byte count on the catalog. no .fh file is being created in the catalog folder also there seems to be errors in the xml file being generated. This is also appl...
