Hi Deb,You are a genius.I stopped the iptables service and the backup has worked!I'll know where to come next time I have an issue.Thank you very much!Andy

Hi Deb,Thanks for the prompt reply.Yes the server is both a master & media server, it's also a Windows server as you've probably gathered from the output.I'll look into disabling the iptables firewall.....Thanks.Andy
