Remote Agent 9.1 with Backup Exec 8.6

We have a customer that is using BE 8.6 on a Win2K server. We need to backup another server running 2003. We are not able to purchase Remote Agent 8.6. Can anyone tell me if we can use Remote Agent version 9.1 with version 8.6 of BAckup Exec.
