Hi All, We are running exchange 2010/2003 mixed with Enterprise Vault. EV server is Server 2008 r2 x64 At present the message queuing is running of the OS drive C which I would ike to rellocate to an additional disk I have added to the server G:\ In G:\ I have created the following structure G:\ MSMQ\ Storage\ I initally followed the instructions on --> http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH53243(from another page with the same instructions until i realized these instructions do not apply to server 2008) I receieved the below --------------------------- Message Queuing --------------------------- Unable to start service 'NetMsmqActivator' Error: The dependency service or group failed to start. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- I then found this Windows 2008 Procedure: Assign MSMQ group permissions to the MSMQ storage location using the command line, this is not possible using the GUI. icacls 'MSMQStoragelocationpath' /grant "NT SERVICE\MSMQ":(F) Then carry out following tasks. 1. Take Message queuing offline within Server Manager 2. Take Message Queuing Service offline 3. Change the storage file path to desired location 4. Bring Message Queuing service online 5. Bring Message Queuing online within Server Manager 6. Validate Drive:\MSMQ\Storage location for newly created files (LQS folder and approx 5 other LG* files) ---------------------------------- If I run icacls 'MSMQStoragelocationpath' /grant "NT SERVICE\MSMQ":(F) I get the following C:\Users\svcEV>icacls 'MSMQStoragelocationpath' /grant "NT SERVICE\MSMQ":(F) 'MSMQStoragelocationpath': The system cannot find the file specified. Successfully processed 0 files; Failed processing 1 files Can someone please help me with clear and concise instructions to relocate the MSMQ storage for Server 2008 from C to G drive Thanks KrisSolved4KViews0likes4CommentsSQL Server Connection fails on Installing EV

I have not used my EV 10 lab for a few month but I now want to do some further configuration, however I now get the above error when I try to open the EV administration console. In event viewer I also get the following errors: source - Distributed COM - Event ID 10016 - The application-specific permission settings do not grant Remote Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID source - Enterprise Vault - Event ID 40975 - Unable to access the Directory Service on EVSERVER. I am an end-user (not admin) and would like to unvault some Microsoft Outlook emails. I can't find documentation oriented toward the end user. Can someone please link me to documentation or describe how an end-user can unvault emails. Problem: I was away on vacation for long enough that my inbox is now almost entirely vaulted. Accessing email from the vault is unacceptably slow and I cannot perform actions on vaulted emails. One of many actions I find necessary would be to copy an email to a local folder. There is some kind of error in my companies configuration that won't allow me to copy email that has been vaulted from one folder to another (the whole email, not just some silly stub). This is not something I can fix, but it is a problem I need to get around. Please help me unvault my email. From another post, I performed an Advanced Find with MessageClass = enterprise and have a list of emails that are vaulted. Now what?Solved3KViews1like9CommentsAbnormal error occurred in Stream object Error ?

hello, i have upgraded our EV Environment to EV 9.0.1. We are using Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2010 on the client. Since i have a problem with mailboxes which where disabled prior to the upgrade not archiving any mails, i have an ongoing support call with symantec. they asked me to zap the mailboxes using evpm and try again. According to other threads this could really sort things out, but unfortunately i am unable to create the privileged MAPI Session. i am alwas getting the following: Creating privileged MAPI session ... Error creating privileged MAPI session The eventlog shows the following error: An error has been reported by ConfigureMsgService. It may be due to a problem contacting a Global Catalogue Server. Exchange Server: PLATSRV055 Mailbox: _evs@pierre-lang.com Error: MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR 0x80040115Creating privileged MAPI session ... Error creating privileged MAPI session According to Symantec Support this refers to a problem with the Global Catalog and i should use a registry key to use a certain global catalog. According to Microsoft this setting is no longer in use with exchange server 2010 and should not be used! Exchange 2010 uses the Client Access Server instead. I have no idea how to zap the mailboxes. Any Ideas what could cause the problem? I am using the Vault Service Account and i am logged on to the server console with the vault service account. the problem exists for 4 months now and i am getting tired trying the different things.Solved2.4KViews0likes5Comments
