0xE000820A (E_CHG_HARDWARE) error

I have been experiencing backup failures for quite awhile now. I have been through Symantec support and they are convinced it is hardware error, which seems likely. The only problem is that I have changed out all HW and the errors still occur.
In short the backups hang with what seems to be some kind of SCSI error. First entry in the system event log after the error is event id#9. (I realize that Symantec does not "entertain" event id 9, but please read on) This error occurs at the same time that the last server before the error is finished being backed up. It never happens in the middle of writing data, only at the end of a job, or while switching between servers in a job.
I was looking at the ADAMM log today and noticed this entry logged at the same time as the first event#9 in the system log. Can a Symantec tech please give me some info on this error?

I have already implemented the fixes suggested in the Symantec KB articles that are usually supplied when troubleshooting HW issues. KB 191158, and 278111 for example.

Symantec techs: Case numbers can be provided if more info about previous troubleshooting is helpful.

Thanks, I really need to get this figured out.

Anybody have some input on this issue?

I'm wondering if the error is logged in the ADAMM log because of the the event#9 in the system log, or if it is a serperate error indicating another issue or cause of the failures.

Searching for 0xE000820A (E_CHG_HARDWARE) doesn't seem to get me anywhere, and I'm still waiting for a call back from tech support.

Thanks,

It sure looks like a hardware issue.  The event ID 9's as well as that error in the ADAMM log point to hardware issues.

Thanks for the reply.
Can you provide me w/ some info on the error in the ADAMM log?
Is it just a reflection of the event#9 in the sys log?

I realize that all clues point ot HW issues, but I've replaced all HW and the error continues. I'm just trying to gather more info.

That error in the ADAMM log really doesn't point to anything specific.  It is just saying that it's having some kind of trouble talking with the hardware.  The error is very generic.
