0xe000fe29 - Authentication failed

I am receiving the following error:  "Final error: 0xe000fe29 - Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly." when trying to back up one of my servers in our DMZ.  Even with this error everything appears to back up successfully, just a failed backup status.  I am running 10d sp3 and have tried the following:
1.  removed/reinstalled agent on server
2.  logged into the server using the same credentials that the backup job is using
3.  credentials are set as a local admin on the remote server
4.  set backupexec service account on remote server to use the same account as the backupexec server

Any other ideas?

Thanks
Bob

Did you ever get a response to this?  I got the same thing last night.  I confirmed the resource credentials, confirmed the account wasn't locked out on the domain, and attempted to test the credentials through backup exec.  I can click the button but the tests aren't run.  No errors are being thrown in BE or the OS(w2k3).
What am I missing?
