Hello, this issue has occured twice over the past 3 nights of backups: our nightly backups start at 9pm, but within 5 seconds an error is returned and the job fails:
"a00081d9 - the Backup Exec job engine service is not responding".
On the system event logs the following message is displayed:
"The backup Exec job engine service terminated unexpectedly".
The server (which is a DC running 2003) has been rebooted since the first occurance. It worked fine one time, then it failed again last night in exactly the same way. What can be done to alleviate the issue? I have set the service to automatically restart as an attempt to try and get a successful backup, but it looks like backup exec won't retry if the service isn't running.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
