10.1 d and Macs

The Software Compatibility List for 10.1 d shows support for Mac OS X 10.4. But looking for 10.1 compatible Mac Agents in the download section does not show any. What is a person supposed to do? I'm waiting for a 10.1 compatible agent for the Mac before I upgrade from 10.0.

According to BEWS 10d SCL http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/278254.htm
MAC OS X 10.4 is supported under Legacy Linux/UNIX/Mac Agent !

http://support.veritas.com/docs/269806 says specifcally that it only applies to Mac OS 10.3 or earlier and only with Backup Exec 10.0, 9.1, and 9.0 (not 10.1).

I'm currently using 10.0. I'm not very interested in updating my backup software to 10.1 to experiment to see if the backup software works with the old agent. If it doesn't I have to reinstall 10.0 and hope that goes smoothly. Shouldn't you be able to clear up this inconsistency in your website and definitively say whether 10.1 works with a Mac agent and which version of the agent that would be? The downloads still do not show any available mac agent for 10.1.

Hello Barry,

It seems that you are using BE 10.0 and Mac 10.4. As per the SCL for 10.0:http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/264484.htm, mac 10.4 is not listed as compatible.

Thus we suggest you to use the legacy agent with BE 10d with which mac 10.4 is compatible. Refer to the following technote for instructions on installation:
