100/200 GB LTO Drive not doing hardware compression

I'm running Veritas 9.1 on a Windows 2000 Server with an IBM 100/200 LTO tape drive. "Enable compression" on the drive properties in Veritas is checked. The job also has hardware compression enabled, but no compression is being done. The total capacity that Veritas is reporting for the media doesn't seem to be correct either. Should be around 100 gb, but is showing somewhere between 16 and 44 gb. I have the most current drivers loaded for the tape drive. Why isn't compression working?

Hello,

For hardware compression not working please contact hardware manufacturer for more information.

As you have installed latest drivers please check the configuration of the device:

How to troubleshoot issues with a Robotic Library or Tape Drive in Backup Exec 9.x and 10.0

Also on compression please see the technote:

Thanks,
