I'm using Backup Exec 10d with AOFO to back up a Windows 2003 Server and a Windows XP Pro workstation in the same job.
On the backup policy's Advanced Open File pane, I checked Use Advanced Open File Option, and I selected Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service, with Snapshot Provider set to Automatic - Allow VSS to select the snapshot provider.
On both the server and the workstation, the Volume Shadow Copy service is enabled, with Startup Type = Manual and running in the Local System account.
The server backup works fine. I get the following message on the workstation: "VSS snapshots are not supported on the version of the operating system running on the target computer."
According to
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/264415.htm, VSS should work with XP.
How do I use AOFO with VSS to back up my XP workstation?
