11D and quantum superloader 3

Howdy just a quick question and quick answer i hope :) everything seems to be working fine other than i cannot eject tapes.

backup exec locks the superloader so the only way i have found to do it is to kill backup exec and do it from the control panel on the superloader obviously not an ideal solution.

i have it set for the next 12 months of jobs with tapes etc loaded in and its set to eject the tape when completed, but this doesnt work and the options to eject it are greyed out I assume ive done something wrong but ccannot see what any pointers?

You cannot use the eject command on robotic library's. You can try using the UNLOCK option in Backup Exec. Go to DEVICES, right click on the library and select UNLOCK. You should then be able to open the door on the library.

hmm ok ill have a look at that when i get back in the office tomorrow my original idea was to load up 12-18mths worth of tapes and then each month just grab the tape out for off site storage.
