A Remote Agent for Windows Systems license is required for protecting remote servers with this edition of Backup Exec.

I am receiving this error when attempting to backup a remote server. I have 2 servers in this environment.

I am using Backup Exec 2010 R2.

The remote agent is installed and running on the remote server, a Windows 2008 Enterprise, only running as a file server.

The RAWS license key is installed on the backup server.

The Beremote.exe versions on both systems are the same, 13.0.4164.0

Firewall exceptions are there for both systems. I have removed and reinstalled the remote agent to no avail.

Not certain where to go next?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Reinstall remote agent license, make sure BE services are recycled during installation

While I did not reinstall the license key, I did recycle the services on the BE server and ran a test job to the remote server. It succeeded this time.

Test jobs are not reliable, verify the status by running actual job
