A vicious cycle...

BackupExec will not allow our existing Exabyte drive (VXA-2) to be enabled. The drive initially appears disabled. I will then enable the device (I've tried enabling it in BE and Device Manager) and then go through the process of marking the device "ONLINE." Then, I'm at a point where I can Inventory the current tape in the drive. The inventory process fails, though, and I get the following error:

Inventory Drive 00033 -- The job failed with the following error: Physical Volume Library Drive or Robot paused, offline, or disabled.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can actually inventory this drive?Message was edited by:

Its not being detected properly in backup exec.

Delete the drive and library out of backup exec.
Stop the backup exec services
disable the windows removable storage serices
UPgrade to Backup Exec 10.1 with latest drivers and reboot.

May have to change the emulation mode on the library as well
