I followed the "easy 1-2-3" steps for upgrading my backup software from 12.0 to 12.5. I did the pre-environment checks, entered all of the licenses correctly, etc. It said it was successful. My server went through the restart and I got an error. I followed the steps to go into Directory Service Restore Mode. Checked for my database files, etc. Ran the integrity checks, database analyses and it failes with database is inconsistent. This is my PDC. I have a BDC in service. The next step in the microsoft technet help is to do an offline defragmentation of the active directory database. I would restore the system state, but I can't get the newly installed backup exec services to start because the active directory is not available in the DSRM safe mode...am I stuck in a loop or is there a way to get Backup exec to run without authenticating against the domain? Any help is appreciated.
