I have always run with the option checked "Use storage media-based catalogs".
However, last night I had to catalog a bunch of tapes looking for a file accidentally deleted by a user. Each LTO4 tape took about 90 minutes to catalog. It appears that the catalogs are not being written to the tapes. If they were, wouldn't the catalog process be very fast?
Is there a way to determine what is going on here? Version 12.5
