AOFO error without having it installed...

Hello,
I just installed Backup Exec 10.0 on a Win2003 Server. The backup seems to go through but still fails with this following message:

AOFO: Initialization failure on: "Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
Snapshot provider error (0xE0008524): Unable to initialize the snapshot because the Advanced Open File Option (AOFO) is not installed on the target computer. You must install this option, restart the computer, and then run the job again.
Check the Windows Event Viewer for details.

I don't have AOFO installed. Is it not possible to make a regular backup without Backup Exec complaining about this?? I have looked everywhere to turn that off but everything with AOFO is grayed out so there is no way to change that...

Please straighten this out for me...

Best reagards

Hi Christer,

The error may occur if the VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) service account has not been granted the correct privileges (including privileges for group policies).
The account should have administrator rights on the server being backed up.

Also, the following rights may be assigned to the account through the group policy:
1. Act as Part of the Operating System
2. Backup Files and Directories
3. Create a Token Object
4. Logon as a service
5. Manage Auditing and Security Log
6. Restore Files and Directories
7. Take ownership of files and other objects

* also try enabling the restrict anonymous keys on the remote server as well as the media server with the help of the following document:

http://support.veritas.com/docs/238618
Restart the backup exec services after enabling the key.

Hope it helps!
