About VM Guest Backup Question

Recently when I make the backup of VM Guest. After backup, there is exception alert. Exception is "You cannot perform GRT-enabled restores of application data from this backup."

I check the crendtial is ok. I backup several VM Guests including Domain Controllers. The problem still occurs.

Can someone tell me what I shall do?

Hi,

Is GRT enabled in the VM backup? If not, you need to turn that on otherwise you cannot do GRT restores.

Did you install the BE Remote agent in the VM's ?
This is a requirement for GRT backups with the AVVI agent.

In my configuration, I have already enabled "use Backup Exec GRT" to enable the retore of individual files and folders from virtual machines.

I still get the exception.

Installing RAWS inside the VM for backups is just a requirement of Application GRT and not normal File & Folder GRT. So if you have application like Exchange, SQL or AD in the VM then you will have to install RAWS even for the backups.

Or else for files and folders GRT it is required only during restore.
