Hello,

What is the OS on the remote server that you are backing up? What account are you using to connect to this server?

Ensure that the account you use has domain admin rights. Add this account to the local administrators group on the remote server and test the results.

Hope this helps. If issue persists, revert with details.

Thanks for responding Priya.

The OS of the remote server is win2k sp4, the account im using is "administrator"

The server is not part of a domain, but the username is part of the local admins group on the remote server.

These measures are already in place, but I still get "Access denied to directory Boot Files" in the job log.

Hello,

You have mentioned that the error " Access denied to directory boot files " has occurred . This issue could occur due to permission related issues of Backup Exec service account.

Ensure that Backup Exec service account(BESA) is a member of Domain Administrator and local administrator group only. Remove it from users and Backup operator groups. This would eliminate any most restrictive permissions being applied.

This step should be carried out on media server and as well as on all remote systems.

The Following rights must be assigned to the Backup Exec service account :

--Log on as a service,

--Act as part of the operating system and

--Create a token object.

Ensure that the restrict anonymous setting is enabled on Backup Exec as well as suspected remote system.

[-(title) How to enable support for "Restrict Anonymous" when using Backup Exec 8.6, 9.x, and 10.0 for Windows Servers

Thank you for responding, the procedure you outlined is already in place in this environment. Restrict anonymous is already enabled and the BESA is a member of local admin...the servers are not part of a domain...they are part of a workgroup

Hello,
IF your servers are in a workgroup, the admin account of one Server needs to be added to the local admin of the second server.

Hope this helps you...

The admin account of the BE server is in the local admin group of the server being backed up.
