Active Directory Recovery Agent

Dear,

In the job log I get the following message:  The following backup sets contain Microsoft Exchange data. Symantec recommends that you install and use the Active Directory Recovery Agent to better manage your Microsoft Exchange data.

Do I really need to buy a AD agent ? Can somebody explain me why I need this agent, so what things I cannot perform right now ?

Kind regards,

Kenny

Hi there ,

You are getting this message as a recommendation. This message means the following

* You are trying to backup Exchange which is present on AD

* With Exchange agent , you can perform grt backups of information store which will give you an option to restore Individual emails , individual mailboxes of the users

* However you will not be able to restore individual users present in the AD

* With AD agent , if you perform a full backup of system state of domain controller , You will be able to restore individual users in case if they gets deleted accidentally.

* Not just users , but other active directory objects as well

* Thats the reason you are getting a recommendation for the same

Regards
