I recently partitioned my autoloader to better manage my media and immediately after doing so I had the following happen: The differential job kicks off and runs for an unkown amount of time but then in the morning I come in and under staus it says job is queued. It does not need more media and there are no visible errors it just goes from active to queued. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Verify that the tape device is assigned to the partitions that were created. This can be done by going to the Devices tab , look under "Device Pools" and expanding the partitions created to see which tape units are assigned to the partition. If no devices are listed, right click with your mouse on the partition and select "Add device"

Thank you for the suggestion but I did already have the drive listed under each pool. I don't understand it. The job kicks off, shows its active and I can see that it is copying data but then the job does not finish and tomorrow morning it will probably be in queued status again.

Hello,

Please check for any active alerts in Backup Exec. Backup Exec waits for response to active alerts otherwise the running jobs would have no activity and sometimes thrown to queued status. So configure Backup Exec using the following document, so that the alerts are automatically responded to.

http://support.veritas.com/docs/254685

Also install the latest device drivers of Backup Exec from the following link :
