Hello,

Since when do you face this problem ?
What type of backup is this ? How many servers are you backing up in this backup job ? or Is it a local backup ?
Have you installed Veritas drivers ?

Kindly update.

Regards

Thanks for replying,

I have a new DELL 132T tape library with LTO2 drive running less then 2 weeks.
I have FULL backup that override the tape.
The problem occurs while I first configured the job to run automatically every day. Every manual backup before it run immediately but now, even manual backup (start job now) starts long time after job is started.

I backups 14 servers, 1 of them is exchange server with exchange agent; all backup is about 200GB.
The backup is running on different segment that used only for backup. Every client has 1GB NIC used only for backup.

Yes I installed Veritas driver thru the wizard.

What are the overwrite protection and append speriod settings?
Are you getting any errors in the event logs?

Sorry if it sounds silly:

You do not have the progression indicator bar activated?

These would need some time before the backup starts (but will not make a warning).

greetings
Peter

Actually, I do have the progression indicator bar activated.
I didn't know it cause 4 hours delay before backup starts.

I just tried the backup without this indicator activated and it works immediately.

Thanks for the help,
Avi
